Most of these flannel board background scenes come in two sizes: either Small or Large.  The small size covers a board 16"x24" inches and the large size covers a 32"x48" board. You can use several material options for a base such as plywood, bristol board, corrugated cardboard, or for an impromptu board simply drape any of these beautiful background scenes over a painting easel and secure it with snap clothespins. 

After selecting your base size simply stretch the felt tighly over the board. The backgrounds are designed with a two-inch overlay on all sides. Secure the flannel background with staples or heavy tape. Do not glue the felt to the board because this weakens the static electricity which is needed to make the felt figures adhere.
