Go to the Ant, Thou Sluggard is a unit Bible study with a unique approach. We call it our table top series. Using weekly review cards, we encourage you to display these colorful cards on your dinner table, covering them with a clear vinyl table covering. One can be purchased at your local superstore. During meal-time you and your children will discuss the week's lesson. There will be lots to talk about... such as how to avoid the lazy man's trap, discuss Biblical accounts of people who showed slothfulness and their outcome. You'll be discussing ant anatomy, ant colonies, and even what it must be like to live at an ant's homestead. PLUS so much more!!!
If you are a teacher, you may use the cards for a bulletin board display or as reivew cards. Feel free to make copies for your students, parents can continue to review what you've introduced in class. The "Ant-chievable Work Habit" cards are great for take home assignments too!
Children will learn from the ant how they can create self-motivating habits, to become industrious, prudent, and how to use perseverance, cooperation, organization, along with taking initiative in providing for themselves and others within your home.
This unit Bible study gives you arts & craft instructions, a Biblically-based science study, and a language arts assignment. Also included: delicious recipe ideas, and a harvest party suggestion.
As it was mentioned before, this unit comes in pdf format. All you'll need is access to a color printer in order to print the 51 display cards and the lesson plan. Then simply have fun teaching! Children will start to observe and examine habits of the hardworking ant which King Solomon spoke of so long ago.

P.S. This lesson is written and directed to parents who want to teach their children at home. However, it can give co-op directors and Sunday School teachers delightful ideas to use within the time frame they have in the classroom. With a little modification on the teacher's part, children will be eager to learn more about God's creation - the Ant, and glean godly principles of industrious living. Please feel free to make copies of the material for as many children as you have - God bless you as you teach His ways!
